1. I had a wonderful furbaby who weighed about 20 lbs who when younger
would jump up on my chest and sit there in the morning until I got up to fill his bowl. He lived to be almost 19. But I swear some mornings I thought I would die with that huge lump on my chest. I misses him.

2. My cat used to do that. And scratch to wake me up. He also
started to scratch my face to wake me up, but he scratched too hard and I jumped up too much, so then he went to a procedure where he would very gently start just touching my face with one claw. And increase the force til I awoke gently.

3. My girl baby does that in the middle of the night. "Mom! Mom! Mom! I'm here! Pat me! Mom!" She loves
to sleep on my pillow. Or my head.

They only thing I really hate about the scratching is that more than once she has come darned close to hooking my eyeball.
