have you ever done somthing that you thought you would hate
or at least not really enjoy, only to find out you love it? I went snowmobiling for the first time this weekend and not only did I not hate it, I can't wait to do it again! And here I thought I was old and set in my ways :P

Anyone else?

1. Raw spinach
I hate cooked spinach and I don't understand why it tastes so different raw, but I really like it.

2. well, I tried skiing recently for the first time at age 52
I thought I'd suck at it and really not like it, but I actually did very well and it was kind of fun. But I'm not really jonesing to do it again, mostly because of the cost.

4. Facebook
I signed up a long time ago but I wasn't updating my site at all. Then my Mother added me as her friend so I decided to check it out. (My Mother and I had a falling out over the holidays and wanted to find something we both could do online)

Now I am hooked and LOVE it. My only problem is people don't update nearly as much as I do.

5. Now … Jenny Diver … ho, ho … yeah … Sukey Tawdry...
.
My girlfriend in the late 80's was really into 50's R&R --
though it was about a decade or so before our time.
.
She bought us tickets to see "The Golden Boys of Rock and
Roll -- Frankie Avalon, Fabian, and Bobby Rydell. I couldn't
imagine a worse show (yes, I could), but I really, really
liked her... so I decided to go and pretend that I was having
a really, really good time.
.
Those guys ROCKED. I had expected Vegas-style posing glorified
lounge singers and they were anything but. Still not my cuppa
tea, but the show was amazing, and I didn't have to pretend a
damn thing.
.
She was pretty smart, my girlfriend was.

7. When my supervisor told me to go work at our company's healthcare clinic for the homeless,
I remember thinking: "Umm...I don't really wanna..."

But I did, and it changed my life. Healthcare for the homeless has become my avocation in life. I love it...

10. My in-laws took Mr. Brickbat and me and the kids to one of those enormous waterpark/resort places.
I can't swim, I'm unhappy with my appearance in a swimsuit, and yeah, vacay with the in-laws? What th'?

I had a complete and utter blast and would do it again in a hot second.

11. Flying.
I mean flying an airplane myself, not riding in an airliner. I used to be scared to death to fly in any kind of airplane, even a big one, but a friend who was a flight instructor talked me into going for a ride with him. Although I was terrified at first I also thought it was sort of cool, so I ended up taking flying lessons, got a pilots' license and a bunch of advanced ratings and became a flight instructor myself; totally love it. I don't do it much any more because it's become so expensive, but it's the most fun you can have with your clothes on.

12. Yeah, man
Roller coasters. They've scared me for as long as I can remember. I sucked it up and rode one a few years ago. LOVE THEM! My father is to blame for the scare, though. He took me to an amusement park one day when I was quite small. He told me the roller coaster was a choo-choo train. Imagine my shock when we dropped several hundred feet! Oh well, all's well and all...

14. Artichokes.
First time I saw one I thought its design was nature's way of saying "stay far, far away!" Now, I'd live on 'em if I could.

15. Yes!
Usually it's mundane, I don't want to go to a meeting or party and then end up glad I went.
