Question about 3-D : If I go to the movie and find out that I can't use the
3-d glasses because I don't have binocular vision (IE one eye is super dominant, so info from the other eye isn't processed), can I still see the movie or am I out the admission price?

1. you can see it, but it'll look really blurry
if you can't wear the glasses, just skip the 3D and see it in 2D.

2. I hate going to 3D movies.
I always have to find some play to put those stupid glasses over my regular glasses. Its really uncomfortable.

4. Avatar's glasses work well with regular eyeglasses
They're sort of Ray-Ban looking, with very long stems so they can sit on your nose in front of regular glasses. The glasses were the least of my complaints with the movie... I actually kept my pair so I could use 'em at home if I get other 3D movies using the same technology (I think Coraline does, for instance).

5. You stole Imax 3D glasses? lol
Those are expensive (relatively) for the theaters. We used to get so pissed when people wouldnt return them cause I would have to order more and I would get yelled at because we kept losing them.

10. You don't get to keep the glasses?
 Haven't been to a 3D movie in many, many years. I think the last time I went to one was Jaws:3D and I kept my glasses. How can one possibly collect all of those glasses? I thought you just got to keep them. That stinks. Bad enough I pay all this money for the ticket and snacks, and then I don't get to keep the glasses? WOW.

11. Yeah its a pain
Its the Imax 3D glasses I'm talkin about. The big plastic ones not those paper glasses that Disney 3D movies use. We had a little wash room underneath the Imax I worked at that we had to put all the glasses in a big dishwasher between shows. And we had to have people hold out empty trash bags at the end of the movie and yell "GLASSES! LEAVE GLASSES HERE! NO NOT TRASH, GLASSES!!!" lol

13. Our theater had recyling bins for the glasses.
No one standing over them or watching the patrons. You answered my question about the glasses being washed between uses. Makes me feel better about using community glasses. ;)

3. If you wear the 3D glasses the movie should look fine, but you might not get the 3D effect.

The polarized lens over your good eye will block out the image intended for your bad eye, so it should not appear fuzzy.

7. I snuck peeks without the glasses and the picture was not clear.
My cineplex had it in 3D and regular. I wear glasses and the 3D ones were ok over them, but by the end of the movie they were a little heavy.

14. the 3-D kind of bothered me a bit,
so every once in a while I would slip them down and look over them. Only the things that would have been in the background was fuzzy. I would then put the glasses back up once my eyes had a bit of rest.

9. Turn 45° to the left or right (depending on which eye is stronger)
It should all balance out just fine.

12. I get a "double vision" effect.
I can't really process the 3D properly so my eyes pick up the faint blur of the picture meant for the other eye. The glasses don't entirely filter that out and I guess people with good 3D vision don't notice it too much. But to me it's entirely too distracting and leaves me feeling sort of sick. With the glasses on I can cover up my more nearsighted eye and not feel so disoriented, but that's unpleasant too. I much prefer 2D movies.

15. I went to see it tonight and must say that I would probably
prefer 2-D also but do not dare admit it to my kids. In fact I would prefer to wait until it comes out on DVD and watch it at home. That way I wouldn't have to deal with my phobias, uncomfortable seating and the pain from sitting too long. But I won't say anything more because I am way too negative. :eyes:

16. Your dominant eye will adjust, as it does when you read or
find road signs.

Don't worry about it. Your eyes will adjust as they do in other situations.
