1. yet another amazing talent out of Lubbock; guess he still lives in Santa Fe these days
never saw him on his own, but saw him do a few songs with Joe Ely and his band in Santa Fe a bunch of years ago. One of the ones I remember them doing was Gimme a Ride To Heaven

2. Saw him do Juarez in KC in the 80s; I'm a long-time fan
Juarez is still one of my favorites, despite a few wrong steps here and there (like the end of "The Radio ... and Real Life). "There Oughtta be a Law Against Southern California" and "Dogwood" are two of my all-time favorite songs.

4. hey I like the "comment" part of your profile; couldn't have said it better myself
:toast:

amazing that Terry and all three of The Flatlanders ( Ely, Jimmie Dale Gilmore and Butch Hancock) all went to the same high school in of all god-forsaken places, Lubbock ( not to mention Buddy Holly; different H.S. though, I think). And then you think about other greats from right around there, Waylon Jennings ( Littlefield) and Bobby Keys ( Slaton), and ya gotta wonder...I remember reading once where Ely said it was the constant wind and the noise from it ( clanging screen doors etc) that produced some kind of nervous energy...

3. The Great Joe Bob (A Regional Tragedy) is pretty good too
Lubbock (On Everything) is a pretty solid album, in fact. I have the original vinyl pressing from Fate as well as the CD.
