Just finished Series 1 of Torchwood...
Edited on Wed Jan-13-10 03:09 PM by TheMightyFavog
What is the point of Ianto? All he does is get people's coffee, clean up around the office, and *ahem*... "help out" Captain Jack.

Talk about being the "bottom" of the totem pole.

1. He's the office manager
from what I can tell. He sees to all the logistics and equipment running smoothly and probably pays the bills. Plus "sees to" Jack. ;-)

I like Ianto. I think he's vaguely reminiscent of a butler.

2. They tweak his character through the series.
Giving him more to do than stand around frowning.

The last mini-series, Children of Earth, has a longer story arc than the self-contained episodes. A real bang-on ride. Highly recommended. But save it for last after all the rest.

5. I wonder if Ianto Jones and Martha Jones are brother and sister.
