I've posted fairly frequently about Crazy Nextdoor Dude who's fried his brain with too many illegal materials, and his kids who have no concept of physical boundaries and make our yard their yard. He doesn't have primary custody anymore though (somebody woke up), so we don't end up...er...interacting with him as much anymore. Thank the gods.

1. What is something that you really like that most people you know dislike?
All of the more extreme sub-genres of Metal music. And by extreme, I mean anything past Thrash.

2. Do you usually eat breakfast?
No. I have a "quick turnaround" if you catch my meaning, and I take public transportation nearly every morning, including my days off from work. So...you know...

3. What's your favorite thing to do on a day off?
I like to get up early, jump on a bus, and go to a large shopping complex adjacent to a guitar center. I play. I eat. I shop, perchance to buy. I people-watch. I catch a movie.

4. What's the most recent action you took to advance a cause that's important to you?
Gave to various 'feed the homeless' programs this past holiday season. Didn't really 'advance the cause', so to speak, but I hope it helped someone not get dead.

5. How many hours of TV do you watch in a typical week?
About 7-14 hours, including watching TV shows online. Used to be a LOT more, and not that long ago, either.

6. What is one thing you participate in routinely even though you think it's wrong?
I jaywalk on this one part of Whittier Blvd at 5:30 in the morning dressed all in black.

7. Who is your craziest neighbor and why do you think he/she is crazy?
The more I think about it, the more it looks like I may be the crazy neighbor. Everyone else seems so...regular.

Human babies, followed closely by kittens.

It's not really unique, but it sure is rare on my street. I can tune a fucking guitar!!!!

I'm 48. The people I know fall into roughly 3 basic groups, and they've stayed (stagnated?) there.

1. Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rush, Trower, etc...
2. Sabbath, Priest, Scorpions, Maiden, etc...
3. Metallica, Megadeth, Anthrax, Testament, etc...

A couple three years ago I decided I needed new music, and BAM, I started listening to the following (alphabetical order, obviously, with my faves asterisked): Alabama Thunderpussy, Battle Of Mice**, Bloodhorse, Children Of Bodom, Cynic, Death**, Deathspell Omega**, Dekapitator, Dethklok**, Early Man, Electric Wizard**, Eternal Elysium, Exhorder, Fu Manchu, Gojira**, Hatebreed, High On Fire, If These Trees Could Talk**, Jesu**, Lamb Of God**, Lowrider**, Made Out Of Babies**, Mastodon**, Meshuggah**, Mouth Of The Architect, The Obsessed, Paths Of Possession, Pearls And Brass, Pelican**, Pentagram, Rigor Mortis**, Saint Vitus, Saviours, Sleep**, Spiritu, The Sword***, Torche, Village Of Dead Roads**, YOB**...and I'll listen to anything anybody's got. I spent a lot of years stagnating right along with my buddies, so what seems old to some people is brand new to me. In fact, I'd never heard of sludge, doom, or any of the other early Sabbath clone sub-genres til the last couple years. I didn't know death metal and black metal were two different things. And there's this cool layered atmospheric stuff called "post metal" that I'm digging immensely.

I actually just went to get my license today. I'm 41 and I'm just getting my drivers license. However, my husband forgot to print out updated proof of insurance, so I have to wait 3 more weeks to take the test. That was a super fun way to spend the morning.

I really hate cars. But we've been in the suburbs for over 2 years now. We're going to end up being a 2 car family. It's sick but so hard to avoid.
