Mrs. Robb and I plan to go a whole month without fast food. |
|
...We're thinking December 2013 would be a good month to shoot for. :eyes:
Oy, it's tough. Figuring out what to eat with the baby demanding so much time is difficult. Getting it together to fix a meal, once my favorite way to spend an evening, is almost impossible. I'm never going to lose my pregnancy fat at this rate. :D

1. Little babies have a BIG impact on life, don't they? |
|
But I'm thinking you might want to push that date back to about 2016 or so. :)

FWIW she's walking. Holding on to things as she does laps of the living room, but walking. At 7 months.
I spend all day following her, trying to keep her alive. :D

Cruising along, she is... just wait till she starts walking around, not needing to hang on to anything. :)

4. That's wonderful! (The walking part, that is) |
|
They change so fast when they are that young. I still remember the day I came home from work and my ex said, Watch THIS! He stood our daughter up and she just took off walking without holding on to anything, when just that morning, she couldn't walk on her own.
Amazing creatures, those little ones are!

5. I've gone many months without it - only the egg & cheese breakfast sandwich suckers me back in. |

Until last year, I'd lived for more than a decade where the nearest fast food was a good 40 minutes away, and never thought it was worth it.
...But when I moved back to civilization, I discovered they'd put chicken breast patties into biscuits and were selling it, I didn't even have to get out of my car. Evil! EEEEVILLL!!! :D

7. The only problem fast food I have is Jack in the Box 2 for 99 cent tacos. |
|
I can live without other fast food.
Take it back, I need a Whataburger, it is a Texas thing.

9. Funny, Mrs. Robb is also partial to the tacos there. |
|
Which is remarkable, given her general mexican food snobbery.

14. If your budget allows, instead of fast food try a place like Whole Foods where |
|
you can bring home already prepared meals, but they are healthy. If it's not in the budget, grill a bunch of boneless, skinless chicken breasts and freeze them. Pop a couple in the microwave and steam some fresh veggies or bake a big dish of veggies (sliced yellow squash, zucchini, red & yellow pepper, asparagus, red onion coated with a little olive oil 20 minutes at 400 degrees) and refrigerate remainder to heat up on another night.
Make big pots of soup --chicken is my favorite--and have some garlic bread and salad. A pot of chicken soup can last for several meals.
Get the idea?

15. Or Costco, a rotisserie chicken will set you back only $4.99 |
|
and it's a big'un! Not only that, but you can get diapers, a paper shredder, and new tires while you're there.
