windows 7 users...
I am trying to play Fallout 2, an old game on my new laptop, with windows 7. the game is from the late 90's I think. It loads just fine, but the colors are all funky and when I start to play, the entire screen goes black, save where the mouse pointer is. I can move the mouse to clear some of the blackens away, but it resets back to blackens every couple of seconds.

Is there any way of dumbing down this thing so i can play this classic game? :freak: :argh:

1. You'll have to do like I did, build a WIN 98 computer for those classic games
Dos Box doesn't work well on Vista and WIN 7. I play a bunch of old games om my 1100 Ghz, 512MB, 20 GB restored Gateway desktop. Transport Tycoon, Capitalism, the original Sim City and Sim City 2000. It's the only way.

2. Right click on the executable or
program shortcut and go to the compatibility tab. Try to run the program as a WinXP or 98 program or in 256 color mode.

3. 99 out of 100 times they just don't work because Dos died with WIN98
DOSBox works sometimes on XP.

4. XP Mode (7 Pro or higher)
would be a way to probably make it run better and run it inside the virtual machine. If you do not have that, right now try this. Right click on the icon and go to Properties and then the Compatibility tab. Try running in XP SP3 mode (or even 98/Me mode) and maybe turn down the visuals with the check boxes if you can, and maybe run as administrator. See if that works.
