No votes for welfare people
My freeper BIL says that if you are on any kind of assistance of any kind, then you shouldn't be allow to vote. He states that a welfare hog shouldn't be allowed to allocate public funds. Spewing out his "wisdom" on Facebook , of course.

Hey dipshit, public assistance is not a phrase used in any voting amendment in the Constitution. And why would you want to discourage community involvement anyway?

Since I am on Medicaid now for necessary medication, I guess I should stop voting (I have a near perfect record). I was appointed to my village council earlier this month for a 2 year term ; I guess I should give that up too?

I hate freepers  :grr:

20. Assholes like that always think they get to pick and choose
what kinds of government assistance count, and who will get to vote.

Did he accept government financial aid to go to college, and has he finished paying it back yet?
Was he ever unemployed and did he accept unemployment payments from his state?

How many ways could we probably find that he has taken money from public funds, so by his own standards he shouldn't vote.

And, as you say, he undoubtedly doesn't count corporate subsidies and welfare either.

Right wing hypocrite! :grr:

2. If that's the case, then corporate donations should be illegal fundraising, i.e., corporate welfare.

I get SSI and Section 8. What an ASS!

4. Please let your BIL know
I was on assistance while I was in the army reserves and I am not appreciating his proposal that I shouldn't have a say in the policies or politicians I'm willing to risk my life for.

5. Well, I have had people argue that unemployment and
Social Security were the same as welfare. So no one on these should be allowed to vote either I guess. These people were self employed, farmers and such. But the one woman worked with my at a factory. I wonder if she did not take unemployment when we were laid off. And I also wonder if her farmer husband turned down the subsidies paid him. Ignorance is bliss but stupidity is just plain ignorance. ;)

he's been doing for a while.

He's been spewing so much crap for a while now that I told him to put up-shut up. Told him I want him to do something more constructive that wasting time on FB. He never responed to my comment. What a kool aid guzzling wuss.

7. Why stop there? Take away the vote from farmers who get subsidies,
government employees of any sort, people who drive on roads, and anyone else who uses a government service. They all have potentially selfish motives, right? What a jackass...

Edited on Mon Jan-18-10 11:59 AM by Heidi
These are things we all pay for, whether we need them or not. Does your BIL think his right to vote should be revoked if he ever has to call the cops or fire department?

No to all of these questions. That's what they're for: emergencies. You hope ya never need 'em, but they're there as a safety net, just in case.

9. I image your dipshit BIL claims to be a Christian
If so, tell him for this 'double dipper' and agnostic to read Matthew 31 to 46. Jesus had some harsh things to say about people who didn't care for the least of us.

It also states in our owner's manual, the US Constitution, that We the People promote the general welfare, no strings attached.

Since he makes the most money in our family, he thinks he know best about social policy. It's getting to be that I don't want to see anything from him on Facebook. I'm there to be in contact with other family members; his rants are part of the picture.

14. I do to, but I look back
NO one should have it that hard

I worked from the bottom and worked my way to where I am now

And being poor, not knowing where my next paycheck was coming from and not having health care SUCKED. NO ONE should ever have to go through that.

Those of us with disabilities should definitely not be allowed to vote :eyes:

What a craphead.

I stopped the updates from retardicans on FB I couldn't just delete, then at least I don't ever have to think of them. But if it's family you can't avoid them unless you don't go to FB at all. That makes him not just a selfish jerk but also obnoxious.. I bet you aren't the only one he offends.

Did you take out a Federal loan to pay for college?

Did you pay for those Interstates personally?

Did you pay for your Fire Department personally?

BESIDES - it sounds like this jerk wants to go back to the days where your vote was valued by how much property you own.

13. So he really thinks that segments of our military should not be allowed to vote?
He does know, doesn't he, that thanks to Republicans gutting the military, we have a lot of soldiers getting foodstamps and other aid, right?

Oh, wait, he's a freeper. He doesn't know anything that's factual or true.

17. And while we're at it
You shouldn't vote if you have kids in school, using up my tax dollars.

You shouldn't vote if you've ever called a cop or the fire department, since we had to pay for it.

You shouldn't vote if you drive on the taxpayers' highways.

You shouldn't vote if you're a government employee, or retiree, or in the military, getting paid by taxpayers.

30. Fuck him
I was on welfare for years and raised my two oldest on welfare AND foodstamps AND foodbank food.

My husband is on disability with MS--a disease he certainly never asked for, or anticipated-- should he, too be forbidden to vote?

I'm now part of the so called 'middle class', thanks in part to liberal New Deal policies of giving a hand up. (I work as an RN, and I'm a damn good one. Even RW assholes get the best of care from THIS ex welfare queen. If they only knew.)

Sometimes, quite frankly, I prefer the company of poorer folk, the ones that know the value of not just food itself, but of being able to eat at all on a daily basis. We're all just one catastrophe away from that knowledge of that kind of gratitude.

Your BIL is a POS
