Oprah finally does something of real value - anti-texting while driving show and initiative

Anyone who does the following while driving should be excised from the community:
1. Texting, emailing, typing on a laptop, writing on a notepad
2. Fucking around with an iPod or other device
3. Talking on cell phone without an ear-piece
4. Drinking, drunk, or buzzed
5. Being stupid
6. Reading the paper or a book or phone or a Kindle or anything else that isn't a street sign
7. Watching TV/video/DVD/whatever or anything that isn't out the front window
8. Doing a bris
9. Putting on makeup, dressing, shaving, or eating anything bigger than finger food
10. Mixing cocktails
11. Taking photographs or videos
12. Ordering stuff online
13. Playing jacks
14. Taunting bears

1. Saw somebody texting while driving just this afternoon.

She was stopped at a stoplight; when the light turned green she didn't move. I was right behind her, waiting for it to dawn on her that she could go. Then she sort of weaved along ahead of me, finally stopped at another stoplight, and I pulled up to her right (to get away from her) and sure enough she was still heads-down, texting. I wanted to lob a grenade at her but I was all out of them.

And then there was the idiot I saw on the interstate with a newspaper propped up un his steering wheel, not to mention the woman trying to apply eye makeup.

They all ought to be gnawed by wolverines.

3. Four local high school girls died because the one driving was texting

They collided with a truck--drove into the back of it full force, IIRC. (This was a couple of years ago.)

I am all for taking anything out of the driver's hands except the steering wheel and the gearshift.
