I'm bookmarking for a slow read. This was before my time here; do you have a link for the Passion thread? I have an idea that will make me LMAO.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=818212I would advise against eating or drinking anything while reading. You might also enjoy the "Stridently held opinion based on questionable pseudo-science but I'm right" thread from May 2007. Hope you're not on dial-up! http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=389&topic_id=858649:rofl:

... I was taking a bite of my subway sandwich when I clicked on the first link, lettuce all over my laptop now. And, I think I scared the sh*t out of the little college kids in the break room with my crazy laughter...
:spray:
Thanks for the links.

Truly a thread you never get tired of reading through again. And no, I don't even try to fake being a member then, but heard of it later. Yes, I know it, and I love it.

I never seen this before.
I didn't start laughing until further down, I guess because it wasn't 'live' or watching it develop but it has genius comedy.
I'm currently at this post.
202. What does a barkolator do?
205. A barkolater translates dog into English.
Since he's not exclusively dog, I also got a koalalater, a monkeyolater, a wolverinolater, a pocrupinolater, a anteaterolater and a couple other ones that I got cheap because the labels had fell off and they didn't know what kind of olater they were. Then I got home and hooked the wires from all the olaters to one speaker, only I didn't have a regular speaker so I had to use a loudspeaker. Only the loudspeaker was too loud for inside the house, so I had to put it outside so it would sound OK inside. Only that means that everything that gets translated from Oscarlish gets blasted through the village over the loudspeaker. As a test I had him stand in the middle of the ten various olaters and asked him who would win tonight in Iowa. He growled, he gurgled, he chittered, he guffarphed, he hacked up hairballs, he howlered, and it came out of the loudspeaker: "I can't think I need to clean my balls first!" So much for technology.

it was the OP of that thread who asked for it to get shut, because he was having what he thought was a nervous breakdown from the strain on his fragile imagination.

Locking the thread for dial-up just didn't make sense to me, it was mostly text. But your reason does. My imagination would have frayed by post 10.
And now we have to buy the book to find out how the story ends. Clever, verrrrrrry clever. ;)

could be a new beginning. I hope it at least does well enough that people would want to see more of those folks & that animal. I've never been happier or freer as a writer than when writing about them.
