MY PSA* is back down to 4.0! |
|
*PSA: Protein Specific Antigen. A precursor for prostate cancer. 4 or below is acceptable. In older men (like me) it may be slightly higher.
WOOHOO!
I posted last month about my 7.0. I was SOME worried. Seems like every guy my age I know is in some stage of prostate cancer. My best friend is terminal. Bummer. :-(
Long story I won't go into here, but it now looks like my '7' lab work may have been mixed up with another patient's. My '7' actually may have been someone else's test result. :eyes:
Anyway...MUCH celebration amongst the trof family & friends tonight. Skoal. :toast:

Bad for the lab mix up, though, and the poor person who THOUGHT their results were lower.

5. Slightly elevated PSA reading here... |
|
. That and the family history has my PCP sending me to a urologist soon. Probably a colonoscopy in my near (rear?) future. . I told her that I had heard horror stories about them and she was quick to say, "OH NO... that was sigmoidoscopies, and we don't do them any more." She followed with "Colonoscopies are NICE" and she put so much positive emphasis on how NICE they are that I started laughing, which caused HER to start laughing and admit that maybe, j-u-s-t maybe they weren't all THAT nice. . Not worried at this point. I've exhibited strong signs of immortality. . . . At least, so far. .
