Question for cat fanciers here...

This picture shows Lucky and Charlotte together on top of my fridge.



Lucky is an average-size 11-pound cat.
Charlotte is about 1/3rd smaller than Lucky, now, is this due to her Charlotte's age, (8 months,) or will she be this size for good?

but she's going to grow some.. I think she'll be a small cat. Look at her paws, she's still growing into them; but not much.

2. My guess is she'll keep growing for maybe 3-6 months, and then fill out a bit

But she will probably always be petite. She is so cute! So is Lucky! :loveya:

3. It's possible she won't get much bigger.

When my little girl cat Pixie was 8 months old she weighed about 6 lbs. Two years later she still weighs only 8 lbs., and is much smaller than her boy roommates, who weigh 13 and 15 lbs.

she will get a little bigger (and will fill out for sure) but I think he will be bigger even when she is through growing.

Give her another few months to see. Nutrition in kittenhood and breed mix/genetics are a factor in size, and the votes aren't all in yet. She'll probably never be as big as Lucky, though.


Though I must say, my Madimi was 2 and a half years old when I brought her home from the shelter two years ago, and I could SWEAR she's grown since then. OK, largely sideways. (She was a picky eater at the shelter). But I also think she's longer and taller. It might just be that she got to the point where she felt she had a territory of her own and felt safe there, and no longer felt the need to make herself smaller.

Laws of physics are different for cats. Once you understand that, it'll all make more sense. :)
