'Bejazus! are yez feckin' stupid? Shore Oi was told me password had to be at least 8 characters long and include one capital''

19. I'm guessing that person wanted you to have a password
that even she or he could remember, right? ;)

What I've always hated were the places where IT was so lazy that everyone in the office had the same password. Different usernames, sure, but those were ridiculously easy, too (first initial with last name.) Why bother having such passwords at all when they're so simple? And you know, too often I'd see the username and password written on a post-it stuck to the monitor

24. So?
Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 06:13 PM by Taverner
Think Venn diagram

You have to include (a) adult swim watchers and (b) hackers and (c) hackers that are aiming for YOUR password

Again, this is based on the stream of consciousness password generation theory

Basically - you let your stream of consiousness generate an idea - then add to it the modifications that make it hart to identify. Feel free to add. You can always add !!! or +!+ or any other such combination...

26. OK then think something un-hackerish
Say, ex-wives of Robert Tilton, Producers of Sam Raimi movies....

But making it purely random shit makes it un-rememberable

27. Oh, it's always memorable
but I also like to make up words, too. They look and sound like a word, if spelled with all letters, instead of numbers, letters and symbols. Most people would never guess a made-up word :)

33. I needed to password protect a document one time. I used the product advertised on my coffee mug.
Edited on Fri Jan-22-10 08:58 PM by davsand
I saw it every day and I was able to remember it. The security risk finally was resolved and a password protect was no longer needed, but I used that same password for about a year.

"Iams"

It was a coffee mug advertising cat food.

I use things that only I would know for my passwords. If something should happen to me and the passwords are needed, there's a file on a flash drive in a secure location.
