A Riff on shoes

The thing I know I must desert
are all these stupid shoes that hurt--

the ones that makes my calves look thinner,
the ones I wear to a fancy dinner,

the ones I bought when feeling sexy,
the ones I curse when feeling "hexy",

the ones that made my toes look funny,
the ones that cost way too much money,

the ones I last wore--I can't recall,
the ones that make me six feet tall,

the ones that make me limp and moan,
I really should leave these shoes alone.

1. A buddy of mine once said, "high heels have no purpose other than in bed".

So don't throw them out.
