1. Yes, agreed.
I always loved Betty. She can be so sarcastic. And yet so friendly and warm at the same time. She's a gem.

5. I can't remember a time in my life when I...
didn't know who Betty White was . I remember when she and Allen Ludden got
together...us young housewives who watched day time TV quiz shows thought it was so romantic.

6. Lake Placid:
"Thank you, officer ****-meat!"

I was a Betty White fan before that...especially via her work on the Mary Tyler Moore Show...but her performance in Lake Placid was the cherry on the sundae.

:toast:

9. She had another great line...
along the lines of "I'm rooting for the alligator. I hope he eats your friends."

Haven't seen the movie in seven or eight years, but I recall that the line (whatever it was) really busted me up.

10. I read something about why she was chosen...
might have been in the Sunday paper magazine thing... but she and Allen Ludden were friends with MTM and Grant Tinker when the MTM show was running. The casting director was talking about the new character and said "we need a Betty White type to play Sue Ann." Tinker supposedly said, "Why don't we just get Betty White?"

26. Did you see her acceptance of the SAG lifetime achievement award?
The standing ovation went on forever and it truly moved her, her speech was incredibly funny and warm and sincere and then they gave her a standing when she was finished.

It was so neat and so deserving.

29. Just saw her this evening on "My name is Earl".
She played the role of an old woman who most everyone thought was a crazy witch lady until she proved she really was crazy when she had most everyone tied up in her basement where she planned to stab them to death. Earl made a long speech about how it was his and his friends fault that Betty was the way she was. By labeling her as the "crazy witch lady" and tormenting her, she became that person. Betty and Earl hugged as everyone went "aaaahhhhh!". Betty then stabbed Earl.
