Whose scorn do you wear as a badge of honor?
I am hated by teenage thug wannabes at my school who think it looks cool to wear their pants down to their knees. I once told one of the little wangsters that there was a hole in his underwear that everyone could see. So he hiked up just enough hide where he thought the hole was--except I'd just made it up. Unfortunately, it quickly became a rumor flying around campus and kids teased him for a week about his holy boxers.

Someone else who loathes me is that woman I met while she was leading a protest outside the Planned Parenthood around the corner from my church. Her group was on the sidewalk harassing young women as they went in. I noticed that they were leaving more grown up women alone and really directing their "God wants you to have this baby" taunts at the younger women who approached the building. One girl in particular screamed back, "I'm not pregnant, geeze!" After gawking at this a couple of minutes, I went up to the lady leading the noise and demanded to see her womb, because I needed to inspect it for signs of life. She obviously had no sense of humor, as I just assumed any woman would be disarmed by my charmingly ironic witticisms. We ended up screaming at each other until we got so bad that the security guard in charge of protecting Planned Parenthood came out and asked me to leave. So maybe I should add that guard to my list too, except that I didn't want to piss him off.

1. I proudly wear the scorn of the overly- logical & reasonable crowd.

I am blissfully content in my "logical fallacies"

(I hate typos, especially my own...)

22. Me too
I laugh in the face of the self-appointed "superior" intellect gang. Ha-HAH! :hi:

Oh--and the idiot nextdoor who thinks I'm unreasonable for wanting him to put leashes on his three little monsters, or at least teach them the difference between "yours" and "not yours" before they freaking trample my plants or break the windows in my house.

23. You should whip up a quick Hunchback costume for Mr. MG
to wear whenever you see the little brats outside. That and give him a big throwing fishing net with which to capture them. They might think twice about letting their brats venture into your yard ever again after that

25. He doesn't need it!
He's terrified them several times already with his regular "look" (6'2", long hippy dippy hair) coupled with a murderous look in his eye as he rages. (He's mild-mannered 99.5 percent of the time, but when he blows, LOOK OUT!) Too bad their second-hand pot smoke-addled brains don't retain the lesson (and the fear) for very long.

26. He could still throw nets on them the next time
and claim "trespassing" when they complain. Keep doing it and they will learn eventually ;)

27. I think he'd rather drop anvils on them instead
We're trying to find out where we can buy razor wire for the top of the stockade fence and piano wire to string across the back yard for all the urchins who "cut through" our back yard (we're almost on a corner--idiot neighbor's house is in a triangular wedge between us and the sidestreet) and mangle the grass with their bikes.

30. It's too bad you're too far north for the "Banana Spider"
http://davesgarden.com/guides/bf/go/170 since they spin these huge webs, usually between tree branches, but relatively close to the ground. Usually, that's close enough that if you're not watching where you're going, you'll get a face full of web. But since you are too far north, fake webs would work just as well. You could show your son how the movies make fake webs with model glue

2. As a Planned Parenthood escort for 15 years or so,..
we welcome a little harassment of the anti's by passers-by, but when it gets to be much more than that, it can upset the women and those accompanying them who are trying to enter the clinic, and see it only as a very disruptive and scary situation.
So please take care on how you approach this. Keeping them politely engaged so that they forget to harass the entering women is fine.

3. Oh I did this years ago. This particular PP clinic didn't even do abortion services.
The protesters were just being assholes. There were no escorts that day except for the guard (and when he said skidaddle I did so). I know better than to go rogue in my anti-anti self righteous fervor now, but this crowd was doing its nasty business unopposed. I hate bullies.

(edit to add I don't mean the term reasonable to be an insult, although I could sure see how it might be:P )

I know you've ribbed me a couple of times, but it was never anything I couldn't learn by. Even when we disagree, your points are always substantive. Anyone who can't handle an honest disagreement is just a coward.

Keep on being you!

It was a truly stunning experience. Some of them are my Facebook friends now. I still don't know why they picked on me, and I doubt they really know either. I danced with one of the worst at my class reunion.

maybe a few of the brown-nosed, ass-kissers that have faded out of sight in the last few years in a small political/ideological fight that has been on-going at a small organization. A microcosm of the national situation in too many horrifying ways.
