NFL considering a reboot of the 2009-2010 season. |
|
STRANGE PRESS - Two weeks before the Super Bowl, National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell has been getting calls for a season reboot. And reportedly, he is taking the matter under serious consideration.
The concept of "rebooting" has been used in Hollywood to restart movie franchises that were considered "stale" or becoming too complicated for new viewers to follow. Could such a concept apply to sports? Some team owners are saying yes.
Brad Childress would love to erase the 486 turnovers from last night's NFC championship game. When asked if he thought they would still make it to the playoffs, maybe even finishing first in the NFC, Childress replied, "What? Wouldn't we just be restarting the playoffs? We'd have to replay the whole season? What the hell is a 'reboot' anyway?"
Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen says he would make some drastic changes which would guarantee their spot in the playoffs. "Well, one change really. We's stick with those yellow-and-brown jerseys. I know they looked like they were pulled out of a toilet, but damn, they were magic."
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones suggested that, given another shot, coach Wade Phillips could have done things differently and avoided the playoffs. "Yeah," Phillips agreed, "that's true."
The support, however, is far from unanimous. The Saint Louis Rams have expressed concern that they could not only do worse in a reboot, but the team might actually explode in a cacophony of suckitude. Indeed, the team spokesman, after using the word "cacophony," started drooling and fell over backward. The Rams are currently considering pulling out of the NFL and joining the Lingerie Football League.
With the Super Bowl coming up, Goodell knows that time is of the essence. He plans to call a press conference early Wednesday morning to announce the league's decision.

1. That's mean on the Rams |
|
If you followed their off season moves it was obvious they were rebuilding and not expected to win more than a couple of games. They parted ways with Torry Holt, Orlando Pace, Corey Chavous, Brian Leonard, Ricky Manning, La'Roi Glover, Pisa Tinoisamoa, and many more. I think they went too far but with that said they weren't expected to do well with talent they have. That section should be focused on teams that underachieved.
However it is a pretty funny article.
