1. "Other"
The vegetable that cums in your mouth.

And I don't mean that in a good way.

2. Oh holy fucking Jesus on a flaming marshmallow stick!
That's simply sick - but I can see where the analogy is warranted.

5. It was a toss up between pan fried and in a Gumbo
I chose pan fried because you get (IMO) more flavor when fried in a well seasoned cast Iron skillet.

12. WTF am I, chopped liver?
:)

I may have relocated, but:

"My home's in Alabama
No matter where I lay my head.
My home's in Alabama,
Southern born and Southern bred".

Oh, I almost forgot. Pan fried! Yum yum.

14. There's a batch in the oven right now.
Got poblanos in it.
I remember granny's 'plain ol' cornbread.
It was OK, but now?
You can put in some cheese, carmelized onions, corn or creamed corn, jalapenos, etc., etc.
It's become almost a meal in itself.
There's no end to it.
Yum.

16. Man, you are making me want to go back to Aunt Pitty Pat's porch in ATL
They used to have a side dish bar that had everything from spoon bread to any kind of corn bread you could imagine.

27. Pickled okra is candy to me.
I like it just about any way, but pickled is dangerous. I have to limit myself to three or four at a pop or I'll down the entire jar.

31. I could eat fried okra for breakfast, lunch,
dinner, and dessert with corn pudding, When I had a veggie garden okra was my main ingredient along with the most beautiful and luscious huge Big Boy tomatoes stuffed with chicken salad.

32. I love okra pan-fried. Just dust it with a little corn meal, flour, salt & pepper
and cook it in a cast iron skillet in some bacon fat until it's crispy and browned all over.
