Those were TWA's famous 'inflight only' paper dresses.
Every pilot carried a pair of scissors and the dresses got shorter as the flight progresses.

We just watched a really cool British film about airports, forget the title. It was very interesting, gave a great historical and sociological perspective and talked about how exciting it was to fly back then, and how expensive!

Those were just different times...

It was a simpler time, but I guess 'unenlightened'.

It did feel good, so we did it.

I was a little older than the drug generation, but sure was part of the "pill" generation.
Sex without worry or (much) guilt.
Then came AIDS.
Oh well.
Nothing lasts forever.

23. I can remember the first time I ever FLEW in a commercial jet.

I was a Freshman in college. I wore a neat little (straight skirt) Jackie Kennedy suit, heels and stockings. Probably a girdle too although I've blanked that out.
Earrings. Gloves. I threw up in the cute little paper bag, too.
Now I may or may not be bothered to come up with relatively neat sweatpants. (And I don't see anybody else dressed any better either.)
Civilization as we know it may have already ended.

12. When I was a child we used to fly down to Florida every summer

to spend the season with my Father. We used to dress up, got meals, and since we were flying alone, a peek in the cockpit and pilot's wings. :-)

22. Back in the day...

in the 70s....my Dad would let us run up and down the aisles of the AA jets...eat the shrimp cocktails.....sit in the cockpit....have the stewardesses make us hot fudge sundaes....what a great childhood!
