man i loved that show.. the crazy witches.. the time travel.. the phoenix gate.. the eye of odin.. xanatos.. owen.. fox.. brooklen, lex, ol scratch eye and the big guy himself.. awesome show.. a good deal less awesome when it became the goliath chronicles on abc, but all in all one of my top 5 favorite toons.. old Dungeons and Dragons toons are pretty cool too.. and believe it or not, Transformers: Beast Wars was excellent as well.. :)

4. Dude...
BEAST WARS WAS AWESOME. The Best Transformers adaptation since the original cartoon. The Beast Wars cartoons blew away any of the new Transformers movies!

When it got cancelled and became BEAST MACHINES it was CRAP.

Beast Wars was awesome. Why they took it away from head writers Bob Forward and Larry DiTillio and gave it to the horrible writers of Beast Machines I'll never know. As far as I'm concerned, Beast Machines never happened. :)

Hey - they came back! For one ep only in season 3 of Transformers Animated - Check it out -- "First Transformerers episode in 10 years to be written by Bob Forward and Larry Ditillio writers and producers of Beast Wars. -- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HF5ZdAiROFk Waaaaspinator has planzzzzzz.... heheh

BTW - great Bill Hicks quote on your profile page. Man could speak the truth. A real hero of mine. I imagine it is something like that cause candidate Obama and prez Obama seem like 2 totally different people.. doh.

10. Fun fact about Larry Ditillio
Edited on Wed Jan-27-10 06:35 PM by rcrush
He wrote 7 episodes of Babylon 5.

The only issue I had with Beast Wars was that some characters couldn't get a proper development because Hasbro wanted more toys toys toys!

Characters like Tiger Hawk! Only 2 episodes!

Although I loved when they would mutate into more powerful transformers. I have Transmetal Optimus Primal and Transmetal 2 Optimal Optimus. And Transmetal Megatron and Transmetal 2 Megatron!

The show actually CARED about Transformers history! They went into the Ark while their Autobot ancestors slept and had to preserve history! How awesome is that?!

And Ravage was in an episode! And he made the "transforming noise!" OMG I am having high school nerd flashbacks!

11. Ohh yeah the 3-part ep with Ravage was excellent..
Yeah I knew LD had written for B5 - I tried to watch it, but having just come off a killer 4 seasons of Farscape, I just couldn't get into a space show that wasn't Farscape. I even missed Firefly when it first aired cause of Farscape's greatness I never thought another space show could be that good. Then the new Battlestar Galactica rolled in and I was hooked.

But yeah back to Beast Wars - I remember surfin the message boards back then and hearing Forward and DiTillio bitch about the toys changing again so the characters had to change - but I gotta hand it to um - the transmetal shit turned out pretty cool. I used to have all the BW figures, but over the years had to move a bunch of times and sold um. :(

You are dead on about that old transforming sound with Ravage - gave me chills. Good stuff. I've seen Foward write some good She-Hulk - or maybe it was just Hulk eps for awhile. Wish they'd give Beast Wars another go - or movie - or something. Everyone knows it's the best transformer series ever. :)

3. Yeah, it was awesome...
... until Disney got their grubby hands on it and decided to kick the original creator out and do their thing with it.

5. Best character on Gargoyles...

Especially who voiced him, Brent Spiner.

I mean, that show had just about everyone from Star Trek doing voices.

12. I liked the 3 Sisters
They were creepy as hell. Especially when they appeared as children.

7. Alright, I'm gonna throw this out there and it might piss you off.

Why the hell were the gargoyles drawn with half their bodies missing, truncated like? I've seen plenty of real gargoyles with all of their limbs but these have the lower parts of their bodies disappeared.
