Ferrari Falls Ass-End First Off Truck At Dealership
Ferrari Falls Ass-End First Off Truck At Dealership

A Ferrari F430 Spyder fell from the top level of a delivery truck at Ernie Boch's luxury car dealership outside of Boston. The only funny part? Watching the windshield wipers running in the video below.

Watch the video below — then cue the "Yeah, that'll buff right out" comments in 5,4,3,2...

4. Oh, man, I remember the first time I dropped a Ferrari off the back of a truck.
Once you do it, you're hooked.

I'm 600 million bucks in debt because of my addiction.

:cry:

6. That's probably the sort of thing that doesn't happen instantly, but is too quick to stop
The workers probably had plenty of time to anticipate the smashing noise... :rofl:

16. I wish I knew what pillock was, since he used that Monday
I think about Richard; can't remember the reason though...

Now as to my early rising, let's see: I went to sleep around 2:30 and woke up during a dream around 4:30, and to heartburn (probably due to the mixed nuts here and out of the can a few hours earlier.) Couldn't get back to sleep, so now I'm just waiting on a Geospatial jobs webinar to start at noon. I don't think I'll be asking any questions, but will at least be listening in. It's free, so I might learn something about my job-title and prospects for the year :)

So, did you get to see Captain Slow win this past Monday? :D

20. It's British for "dick"
I looked up the etymology once. (No, you're not really a pillock, but I do wish we could adopt that word Stateside--it's got a nice ring to it as an insult, you know? :P )

Cool on the webinar!

I'm sure the TiVo recorded the "new" season--haven't checked the list lately--but MG Jr. and I are so addicted to TG we download the torrents as soon as each week's show airs in the UK (the current BBCA shows aired last summer there). The torrents are even better, because they're uncut, unlike the BBCA version, which needs to make room for commercials.

I luvs it when Cap'n Slow wins! :loveya:

21. If you have a link for the torrents, PM me.
I like things uncut, though my connection here doesn't like torrents so much. It can take from minutes to d/l to days :(

26. Season 13 and 14 do.
I always go for the lower quality (but still most excellent, tv equivalent) .avi vids. The super hi-def ones take too long to download for me. Season 13 just started airing in the states on Monday. Season 14 just finished in the UK, and was very good. Episode 2, the guys build an electric "car" so to speak.

Ambitious, but rubbish.

:(

My connection is pretty bad, too--I usually snag the torrent link from FinalGear.com or just do a search for them, then use an accelerator like btaccel (http://www.btaccel.com/).

18. It looks like the lift-gate extension broke off.
I drove lift-gate transporters just like the one in the video and of you look carefully, you will see a portion of the lift-gate is on the ground under the car. Most lift-gates have an extension that either flips over from the stowed position or slides out and is held in place by pins that slide into a bracket along the edges of the gate.

Here's me using a similar transporter;

Notice just forward of the rear wheels of the car that the deck is wider than the rear portion. The rear portion of that deck (if I remember correctly, I drove that truck back in 1997) flips over and forward when stowed. Some are designed so that they slide out for use and back in for stowage. Either way, the weight of the rear portion of the car is entirely born by two steel pins, usually about 1.5 to 2" in diameter.

It looks as if the gate in the video is indeed a slide out style extension and the pins must have broken off. If that's the case, the trucker did not back it off the gate. The gate broke.

Also, for the record, that is most definitely NOT a new car delivery. All new Ferrari's are delivered by one and only one carrier;
Horseless Carriage. They are also the exclusive new car delivery carrier for Lamborghini in the US.

That has to be a dealer trade or an auction buy or something similar.
