3. it was the Indian nose studs that persuaded me to get my nose pierced
I have studs shaped like flowers that I really like. I had a big crystal stud, but I seem to have lost it.

5. Unless it's a real tiny bright sparkling diamond...
.
...I have to keep looking again and again and again to reassure myself
that it's not a li'l booger.
.
People say she's crazy
She got boogers on the sides of her nose,
Well that's one sure sign of them
Kleenex blows,
Boogers on the sides of her nose.
.
(Apologies to Paul Simon and Ladysmith Black Mambazo)
.
I've had two potential money-making ideas in my life...
only one of them serious. It's not this one.
.
What's one part of the body NOT pierced by anyone you
or I know yet?
.
Yes... and I would call the jewelry, "Rear-rings".
.
And I would hug them and squeeze them and love them and call them George.
.
(Apologies to Looney Tunes)
.

6. My daughter
had hers pierced when she was 17. It got infected and developed a keloid, and she had to have a steroid shot in her nose. That part of her nose turned black and looked as if it was rotting off for a month. It went from cute to painful to grotesque in a very short time. The idiot did it again when she was 19 and had the same result.

8. eewww!
I have 7 total in my ears, and my belly button. That's it. I would like to get my nose done, but I have heard so many horror stories, like your daughter's, that I will never get it done no matter how much I want to.

9. You can lead a 2000 lb bull around with a string
tied to the nose ring because he doesn't want it to hurt when you pull on it.

I prefer not to set off metal detectors or be easily recognizable.

... you can't even see the scar anymore.

There's no way I'd do it on purpose.

I also had lip and tongue and nipples.

Now I have none.

22. Question: do you have numbness in your *previously pierced delicates*?
Starting with nipples, tongue, and lips.

BTW, I had an old friend who pierced his own nipple with a safety pin. He screamed loudly while he did it. I'm not sure, but I think after all these years he probably removed it, too.

30. No, everything is more or less back to normal.
My tongue piercing still has a hole that I can feel. It doesn't bother me, but it's there. It doesn't quite go all the way through, the very bottom part has closed off. (My wife had two in line front to back - I wonder how hers are doing...)

My nipples have small hardened lumps on each side where the holes were. I know they are there, but I doubt anyone is ever going to notice unless I point it out.

I haven't detected any loss of sensation - or any any of my other senses.

My lip ring left a visible scar. That sucks. But, I've got plenty of other scars, so whatever.

I toyed with the idea of a Prince Albert, but decided against it. I REALLY don't want any problems THERE.

15. A friend of mine with a "chubby nose" had one
The stud would fly out when she let go a powerful sneeze. A little embarrassing when it flew out at a customer when she was working the cash register at our place of employment (bookstore, natch).

16. Job is too conservative
I have a very conservative job, so I can't have any visible piercings except my ears. With that said, I love delicate nose piercings like in the first picture. I would go out tonight and have it done, if I wouldn't be afraid to lose my job. I also adore small rings through eyebrows and lip rings. Clearly my fashion taste isn't quite in line with my real life as a 40 y.o. lawyer.

I wanna be more 'pretty'?
Nope.
Honestly, we just think you're weird and on some kinda trip we don't really understand.
And I know you'll agree with the 'don't understand' part.

"Look at me!"
Yeah, I do.
So I guess that works for you.
I look at car wrecks too.
It's just hard not to.
:eyes:

"I'm special."
Oh sure, you and all the rest of the piercers.
jeez

On the bright side...you're free to do anything you want to to your body, pretty much.
Hey, this is the U.S. of A.!
Just don't expect the rest of us to think you're so way cool.
Ya ain't, IMHO.

It seems that you consider that your opinion is somehow more of a fact, simply because it's popular.

Newsflash: it's not.

What an ugly tone you take. I guess it's popular though, so whatever.

19. Story?
I was in the Army in Germany in the '80s. One weekend we were at a local beerfest, drinking huge beers at long wooden tables with hundreds of Germans singing loudly in a big tent. Specialist Schaefer, sitting across from me, pulled a gold stud earring out of his ear, and proceeded to drive it into his nose, where he left it, and continued drinking. No commentary or other indication of his intent. I never laughed and cried so hard at the same time, before or since.

Lots of the people I come into contact with through work have them - I don't like the look of some, do like the look of others...a very personal choice.

31. A lot of students (and at least one teacher)
at my school have facial piercings. It just looks normal to me now - even the big ear plug things. (not the horns totally plugging the nostrils in that last pic, but the others, anyway.)
