Producers must be scrambling to the rights to make it now.

Or at least not until the estate's copyright lapses in a few decades.

Salinger was vehemently against it, and I'm guessing that he left instructions not to allow it. Hell, he didn't even allow audiobooks of his work to be made.

Well, someone is listing an audiobook of Catcher on Amazon with a pricetag of $10K... maybe it was some special exemption for the blind that somehow made it into the public.

4. Saw that... it was pretty good in a creepy way.
Or there's the part of "Conspiracy Theory" where Mel is compelled to buy copies of "Catcher" so the bad guys can trace his whereabouts.
