Am I the only one not mourning JD Salinger?
I didn't even know he was still alive. That book was a hundred years old, right?

Somehow, I made it through high school without reading the book. It might have seemed interesting because of all the talk of banning it. But I doubt it would have compared to Tropic of Cancer, which was actually not in our school's library.

Anyway, RIP JD, whoever you are.

:hi:

1. I thought he was already dead too.
Never understood the hoopla around it.

2. No, I have been fearing his death since that rumor began circulating
that he had finished a new book.

I want to know more about him. Some of us has so much to learn from him.

I hope his existence was good.

3. You are not alone
I am neutral about his death. I offer my condolences to his family or any friends, but really was never a fan.

4. There's Bret Easton Ellis, who's dancing on his grave via Twitter

Of course, "Less than Zero" wouldn't exist without "Catcher"...

Or did Jay MacInerney write that one? They're such distinct literary voices and all...
