How long should a "Personal Statement" be?

I've been invited to apply for the McNair Scholarship, and they want a personal statement. I have no idea how long it should be--my first draft is roughly 900 words. Is that too long, not long enough, etc?

I think 2 pages is a good length. Good Luck! I have friends who went through McNair and loved it. Where are you attending school?

2. West Virginia University.

I have about 2 pages right now (Times New Roman, 12 pt), so that's a relief. I didn't want to overdo it. I have a hard time being "concise," much to the angst of my professors who constantly urge me to be.

I went to Concord U. in southern West Virginia.

It is tough being concise. I am sure you will do great!

but he's at WVU now. :)
