Ah, I beg to differ.
Pants DO too get dirty, though not as much as underwear. Food can splash, things can drip, or your dirty hands can make contact...

After awhile I stopped washing my jeans because it was such a production. I noted that jeans go through a cycle of being clean, then sort of dirty, then really dirty, and then they smell bad, but if you can soldier on through the smelling-bad part (and spray them with perfume or something every once in awhile, like everyone else did there), they emerge into this sort of Zen-like not-dirty existence. They're sure as hell not clean, but they're not dirty, either. So I think I went about a year without washing my jeans.
