28. Very nice....
I love that song. I still like Glen Campbell's version because I love him but the're all great.

This isn't his best but the only one I could find:

32. Fantomas!
My fave Patton project. :)

This is pure Boredoms inspired madness.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mwrMdusKOMw

He also did the music to this short film, which is fucking hilarious. You can get the DVD and CD together for $15.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yWvPravtdqg

The music is excellent on it's own, as is the film. Together it's pure goodness!

And if that's not enough (an by God, shouldn't it be?), he's also pretty cool in the movie Firecracker. The actor Jak Kendell gives one fucking amazing performance in it.

Patton is a true Renaissance man, no joke. The guy can do anything.

35. I loved their last CD, Sundance!
There's nothing Patton can do that isn't at least interesting, something that can't be said for many artists.

Though having said that, my fave FNM album is still Introduce Yourself. Patton is clearly a million times more talented than Chuck Mosley, but the intro to The Crab Sing is still as good as it gets for me. "Where you going tonight?"...."Oh really?" :)

39. Angel Dust is awesome.
Edited on Sun Jan-31-10 09:12 PM by Forkboy
King for a Day is really good, too, though to be fair I was moving onto other types of music at the time and never gave it the fair shake it deserved until later. I'll have to go back and give it some more spins, as it's still the one I know the least.

I was always hit or miss with Mr. Bungle. I like it, but it never came down in one area firmly enough to grab me (both to it's credit and not!). For me the Fantomas couldn't go wrong. Lombardo from Slayer, Patton from FMN, Buzzo from the fucking Melvins (!!!!!!!) and Trevor Dunn, a damn good bass player. I liked Mr. Bungle a lot, but Fantomas blows me away. I like it fucked up! ;)

40. Jon Hassell "Last Night The Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes In The Street"
Trance, ambient, jazz all mixed in.
Trumpeter Jon Hassell was the originator and unrivaled master of the musical aesthetic he dubbed Fourth World -- in his own words, "a unified primitive/futuristic sound combining features of world ethnic styles with advanced electronic techniques."

This guy is GOOD! Quite possibly the best unknown guitar player of the year, at least among those of you who disdain (or don't understand) the American art form known as the Blues. Btw, the name of the cd I'm listening to is "Tijuana Bible". Nominated for a BMA in the "Blues rock" category and rightfully so.
