1,000+ square feet of drive way shoveled- I am DONE
Edited on Sun Jan-31-10 02:47 PM by underpants
Phew.

I did the driveway of the little old lady across the street again. Luckily another neighbor helped out by doing her walk AND I was prepared with salt this time- 6 weeks ago I has ill prepared.

Our driveway is 80 feet long and I have to do the part that my car is in off to the side.

Oh AND our internet connection (Comcast sucks so very very much) is just no up and running again. No blaming the squirrels this tim, Snow=no internet :eyes:

1. I live near you - Barhamsville
It is truly nasty, isn't it? Hubby almost went into a ditch this morning on our gravel road.

Are your roads pretty much cleared now?

OH, and they are saying we may be set up for the exact same kind of storm next weekend! x(

3. Well then it is time to hit Southern States again
this time-2oo pounds of salt

Yeah it was bad, but the snow was light and liftable. The one 6 weeks ago (yes it was only 6 weeks ago) was heavier to lift.

Glad there was no ditch in your husband's day.

They haven't hit my road yet. Henrico does their own roads and they usually hit the hill near us early.

BTW- on a political note--"Bobblehead" McDonnell's plan to cut the snow budget so they could open up the *NASTY* highway bathrooms aint' looking so great right now huh?

7. We've been getting a ton of rain since November
the marathon was on 11/14/09 I have had the reasonable chance to run a total of 6 times since then.

When it is cold the rain is snow.

I actually had a dream that my neighbors driveway was magically done

11. When I was a kid/teen in Kansas I used to walk around the block...
...after a big snow fall (this was in the 70's and early 80's when it really snowed a whole lot) and ask people if I could shovel their driveway/sidewalk for, if I remember correctly, $5 or $10 bucks. I'd then maybe do one or two, it takes time, get the small change and save it for tapes that6 I wanted (not DVD's).

Now it's crazy. I live in NC and nobody shovels their fucking sidewalk after a big snow fall so its icy and dangerous for weeks!

Nobody seems to give a shit. Amazing and depressing at the same time.
