I was wrong to post what I did last night, and I'm sorry for it.
I wish I wouldn't have vented my frustration that way.

I was and still am exasperated and even furious at what's happening where I live, but I was too general with my rage and ended up offended all kinds of people.

I'm sorry. I need to step away from the comp sometimes and maybe find a better way to let off some steam.

To anyone offended by my post, I really am sorry.

Thanks to the mod who put a dagger in that sucker.

I'm not really such a bastard in real life. Most of my posts are just goofy or supportive or general nonsense.

I was over the line and over the top.

Lo Siento.

Cheers.

4. Thanks, and I happen to like Harleys too. And motorcycles in general.
You'd love it here right now. There are about 300,000 of them coming through this week.

That's why I got so upset. With all the drunken raucousness going on right now, it's hard to notice the responsible ones.

Still, I f'd up the post and I admit it. I never even mentioned Bike Week, so it looked like I was raggin' on bikers in general.

Thanks though.

2. No worries, my dear kayakjohnny!
We all make mistakes, and learning from them is really good...

You're cool in my book, sweetie!

6. Thanks. You're such a sweetie.
I botched it. I think I'll find a better way next time. Woke up feeling bad about it. I have always gotten into trouble when my temper flares.

Usually though, I just hurt myself from throwing or kicking something. Or I break something.

I'm not really used to irritating others because of my own probs.

Thanks for your big and wonderful heart.

You help this place out so much when things get sketchy.

3. I have the tendency to boil over at times, too. Many of us do.
Don't fret. People here know you... you're good people, as we say.

Hey... :fistbump:

7. Appreciate the sentiment. Thanks.
Sometimes when I get so riled up, it feels like an alien invades my head. When I finally settle down, I'm like, "OK... What just happened there, cause that was just weird."

Not something to be terribly proud of.

9. Aw, now that's just nice. Right when I deserve the big ass-kicking....
you play the compassion card.

How ironic and refreshing.

Anyway, I really did feel bad earlier. Now, not so much.

I've settled in with the fact that I'm just a person after all.

With a periodically f'd up ego.

But I do have some kind of functioning heart.

So I've got that going for me.

Cheers!:pals:

8. I think it's I who owe YOU an apology. I went back later and read what I posted in response and
thought "Wow, did I type that?" It was a poor attempt at humor on my part, and as the only responder to have his post deleted, I realize that I stepped waaay over the line in my response. I wasn't offended; I was actually laughing as I was typing. Looking back, I acted like a shit.

kayakjohnny, I apologize.

You certainly weren't wrong to post your frustration over what is a very common experience. There ARE Harley riders who think that because they ride a big stinky loud relic from the past they are exempt from acting right on the road. I don't like them nor do I ride with them. One poster mentioned a T-shirt that said "I'm riding my therapist" and that's the philosophy I try to espouse. I ride because it makes me feel good, and the rush of the wind washes all my stress away.

You weren't wrong, just frustrated. So you vented. No apology necessary.

11. Thank you so much cherokeeprogressive.
Actually it was you who I felt possibly the worst about this morning. I felt really bad about striking that tone with you. Again, my dang ego.

I've always heard about certain communication issues during full moons, and damn if this wasn't a classic example.

I had just (literally moments earlier) seen two bikers get airlifted from a wreck 1/4 mile from here. I heard today that one didn't make it.

I felt really bad about getting into it with you, especially since I didn't even bother explaining that this is Bike Week. And out of 300,000 riders that come through, there's going to be some problems. And I didn't give credit to the responsible ones.

My methodology was terrible. I was fuming and furious and had no business with a loaded keyboard in front of me.

Thanks for your sentiment, but I really do feel like I'm the bad guy here.

I sure have learned a lesson.

I need to take a few deep breaths when I feel a rage coming along.

Thanks again.

Cheers!

12. My friend, it is all good. No worries.
I was never offended. I offend waaay more than I get offended by. Pretty thick skin here. On this one, you definitely get a pass, no questions asked.

I can only imagine what it must be like to have 300,000 bikes in your neighborhood. I live in a mountain community that is the destination for probably 5,000 bikers during the course of the year and personally, I hate it. Most of them are of the type you described last night. In that light, your post last night makes perfect sense, and I would have agreed with it in spades.

Have a Great Night Bro.

13. No sweat man
I probably reacted a little rougher than I should have, I had a few beers by the time I saw your thread.

It takes a stand up guy to come back and make it right.

Peace

16. I thought you were a Class IV jerk (in a Class VI rating system)...
.
... but you get Class I goodguy for the mea culpa.
.
STRONG character displayed in the ability to do that.
.
And I understand your frustration -- anytime ANYBODY gathers
for a week or so of hedonism and debauchery, there's going to
be a small percentage who can't do it responsibly.
.
Spring Break, Dead Shows (after "Touch of Grey"), Greek Week,
Championship celebrations, etc, etc, etc,
.
And it's the 1%'ers that cause animosity against the 99%'ers.
.
Same thing when I was in the Army in Germany -- probably MUCH
less than 1% caused DEEP-rooted hatred of soldiers in some of
the populace because of behavior up to and including seriously
harmful felonious acts -- the rest of us could do nothing more
than be ambassadors of what the norm REALLY is.
.
Well.. there WAS that time I threw up on a taxi.
.
Key word there being "ON"... not "in".
.
Relax. You're much more than OK in a lot of people's eyes today.
.
Go for a ride, ya big lug.
.
(rode with nothing but a bike for transportation one winter in
Michigan and two in Pennsylvania, so STOP yer excuses before
they even start)
.
<on proofreading> just remembered you're in Central Florida.
.
You GOTS snow excuse.
.
