1. Sounds like a fun ride
If you havent already learned how to fix a flat, please do so. That knowledge helped me out a lot on a long ride last fall (where I previously didnt know how to fix the flat).

Not sure how hilly your ride is either, but if you can find some hills to practice on, that will be good for your strength and endurance too.

Best of luck!

3. Keep it up
and if your beer snobbery brings you to the South, please let me be the first to recommend any of the following brewers:

http://terrapinbeer.com/

(its rye pale ale is awesome)

http://www.sweetwaterbrew.com/

(make a great pale ale called 420, and my personal preference is their IPA)

(these guys were "underground" for so long you had to know the home brewers, who are turning their dream into a reality - great story too!)

5. i love a good ipa
when it is mixed with spicy food of some sort. last night i went to a beer dinner where they paired an ipa with steak with a poached egg (poached in beer) on top. out of this world. the beer was from a colorado brewer.

6. that is the one.
last year i did it and i had dread as i viewed the bridge. my brother in law pulled over as we got close as we shared a hot dog being sold on the side of the road for some extra energy.
