Have you ever asked someone else whether you are within the range of normal?
What did they say? How did you take it? Should anybody ever ask that question?

I'm about to ask one of my most trusted sources, after having another group of people say something about me being "relaxing" to be around (does that mean "boring"?).

1. First of all, I know better than to ask.
Secondly, I would be seriously hurt if someone said I was.

2. Since I was five years old, I knew I wasn't normal.
The way I see it, normalcy is not all it's
cracked up to be.

8. I'm not saying that I prefer the wackos
But I know a lovely old couple who were genuinely offended by being called "normal".

3. I would have to say "relaxing to be around" is a MAJOR compliment.
It doesn't mean BORING at all. In my book, if someone says you're "relaxing to be around" it means that you make people "comfortable", and there is no stress when they're in your company.

Aside from that, I'm reminded of the song "Oh Well"...

When I talked to God
I knew he'd understand
He said stick by me and
I'll be your guidin' hand
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to

5. Sorry
Couldn't resist.
.
Relax. I would wear "relaxing" as a badge of honor.
.
Calm. Mellow. Comfortable. Non-judgmental. Someone
around whom one can be him/herself.
.
Casually ASK this person/persons.
.
"Y'know, the other day when <whoever> said I was
"relaxing" to be around... what do YOU think they
meant?"
.
I'm willing to z-z-z-z-z-z
.
.

.
(heehee) Sorry.
.
I'm willing to bet you'll like the answer MUCH more
than you may be thinking you will.

9. I was told I have "a calming effect" on children.
I hope that's a good thing.
