Did anyone get their federal tax refund yet? |
|
Edited on Tue Mar-02-10 08:26 AM by New Earth
If so, how quickly did you get it? And if not, does your date keep getting delayed?
I filed on 2/17, then later checked IRS website and it said I'd have it direct deposited by 3/2. Then this past Friday I checked again for the heck of it, and it changed to "There is a delay in processing your return, call customer service, etc.". So I called customer service and he said nothing was wrong, he didn't see any errors, and I should expect it between now and March 10th. But the status on the IRS site still says it's delayed. :wtf:
I searched on google a million times to see if other people are getting delays and it seems A LOT of people are. Anyone else having issues? I want my money! I need to pay my rent and eat food!

I filed on a Monday and the money was in my acct. 4 days later, on Friday.
Keep checking and hopefully it will be in your acct. soon.
Good luck.

:( I just hope the guy was right and there are no errors, I'll be pissed if I check for it every day then find out there really is a problem. I wonder why some of us are getting delayed and others aren't?

4. I have never COUNTED on my refund check in the same way... |
|
. ... as "steady" income. . I just assume it's going to take forever and whenever it does FINALLY come in, it's a windfall -- not something I worked into my budget. . Even though I may be having trouble meeting my bills, I find it healthier to do it that way. .

I am on unemployment and since my last extension, the timing of my checks is horrible. They are never here in time to pay my rent on time, so I have to keep paying a late fee, which throws me back $100 every month, which would be the $100 I'd be surviving on right now while I wait for my refund. Blahh...

And it was more than I figured it should be.
Because it is all computer processed, I'm not going to argue about it.

I got unemployment most of 2009 but I am getting a nice refund. Do you have any kids? Maybe that is why, I get all that child credit stuff. I didn't have ANY taxes taken out of my UE. I only worked about 2 months in 2009 before being laid off. I thought I was going to owe and was going to leave filing until last minute. I'm glad I didn't! Now I just wish the refund would get into my bank!

Also, I got divorced last year, so my ability to file jointly got nullified. We never had children, either. I just have to grin and bear it with the tax law as it is against single people...

11. Mine got delayed a couple days or a week but I got it (electronic file, direct deposit) |
|
there was a $30 error (in my favor! woohooo!) a few days after that a HUGH envelope came with the explanation - must have been 12 pieces of paper in there, I didn't even look at it.
Don't panic - if the guy on the phone said it was cool, you are probably alright.

15. Did you get the "delay in processing" notification |
|
when you checked the status on IRS site? Or did you not check there and just waited for it?

25. yes, since I was obsessively checking it 5 times a day - heh |
|
and it did some weird thing for a couple days - told me the refund would be really late - like two weeks later than the original date. then it was going to be on a tuesday but it actually was pending the friday before which was good as I can fiddle things on the weekend with that account.
it's all better than back in the day of waiting 2 months for it to come in the mail!

So I hold my payment back until the last week to keep it out of Cheney's offshore account as long as possible.

20. I work very hard to make sure we OWE the Feds money on April 15; |
|
why should they get an interest free loan?
Yeah, yeah, I know. I can't get squat for interest on that money now anyway, but at least it helps pay the bills.

Oklahoma state return was a blazing 3 days. Whatever you do, do NOT get mad a fly a plane into an IRS building. We'll take up a collection around here to help you out.
