So Pickles had 6 teeth removed today. Poor little kitteh. :^( She's doing
well, though. We just have to get her to tolerate her thyroid meds a little better and she may be around for a while yet. :)

1. She seems to be eating pretty well without the teeth, though I imagine her mouth is still sore.

5. Thanks! :^) Personally, I think she's even cuter than "Pickles the Fire Cat" because she's so
little and dainty, whereas he was very big. (Although, now that I think of it, they are both always getting into trouble.)

10. Thank you. Yes she had 4 extracted and two drilled out, and yet somehow by today she
was ready to start jumping and climbing on things she shouldn't be. LOL

That's right, you have a kitteh named Pickles too (except ours is a boy). It's tough when they are down but hopefully she'll bounce back soon. :)

12. She was ridiculously wobbly last night from the meds, but she's fine now and back to her old tricks.
My biggest worry is that she is almost 16 and struggling with hyperthyroidism. If I could just get that stabilized then she could be around for quite a while yet. :)

17. Baby food has always been popular with my kitties
..when they need to gum, not chew, their food. All the best to Pickles.

18. Resorptive lesions?
Georgie, Feline-American resident of my home, had at least 10 teeth removed due to resorptive lesions.

This is what is called "kitty cavities". They're not really cavities - there is no definite reason yet why they occur, but the most recent theory is about excessive Vitamin D in some pet foods. I believe there was a lawsuit against Royal Canin for excessive vitamin D.

and best wishes with the thyroid issue. She sounds like a lively girl, and of course she's getting great nursing care. :)
