A poem for my husband...
Because today, his doctor successfully removed the kidney stone that had troubled him recently...

And I realized all over again how much my husband means to me.

Bedrock

I watch my
husband’s
face
all the pain lines

gone

and I realize
anew

he is my
bedrock

We were so
young

so damn
sure

bedrock
forever

us two

2. oh Peggy
that was a while ago wasn't it? He has been suffering all this time? ouuuuuccchhh

So glad it seems to be over now. I bet it is a relief to both of you to have those pain lines gone. When a loved one hurts it hurts US too.

4. My dear Kali!
Oh, no, he hasn't been suffering nonstop all this time! Yikes!

He had another pain episode last week, and that decided the matter: Time for the damn stone to be removed.

In between episodes, he was fine...

You can bet I'm relieved...

13. My Dear CaliforniaPeggy!
.
Beautiful. Powerful. Wonderful.
.
Makes me a little sad.
.
Makes me moderately envious.
.
Makes me very happy for you and your husband.
.
.
.
You distill things down to their essence so finely and smoothly
that I'm starting to think of your work as single malt poetry.

14. My dear MiddleFingerMom...
Oh, sweetie...

Don't be envious, please...

Mostly we are very happy, but there are times...

And I must say how much your words touch me.

Thank you. SO much.

15. Now you've done it...
.
"Mostly we are very happy, but there are times..."
.
.
.
I know you were just trying to help... but now I'm not only
moderately envious...
.
I'm ENORMOUSLY envious.
.
.
.
Did you think I had forgotten about make-up sex?
.

16. While your poetry generally stems form your observations,
this was truly a piece of yourself. Beautiful, and thanks for sharing it.

Glad your husbands on the mend. :)
