Kind of a Kremlin yellow.

Friends are trying to talk me out of it.

6. Bees love it. Me, not so much. For that reason
I love bees, as a concept. Just don't want them buzzing around me and freaking me out.

One of the major triumphs in my life was when a bee flew into my car while I was driving, and I had to keep my cool for several minutes until I could pull over safely. I still can't believe I did that. I have an autonomic freak-out response to bees.

No yellow for me.

8. We painted our Civil War era house in NW lower MI lemon yellow
with slightly darker yellow trim, in '69, and a few years later, nearly half of the houses in that small town were painted some shade of yellow as well. It looked especially nice in the fall with all of the trees around it with their leaves having turned yellow, orange and red.

14. I think it should come with a caution warning
I'd say no to cars and clothes, but it can be successful on walls and houses (if done properly), and of course sunflowers and smiley faces get a pass...

19. It all depends on the shade of yellow.
There is such a range: The lovely, barely-there hint of yellow in some white wall paints to warm them up, all the way to screaming neon patent-leather boots which nearly make you go blind.

I like touches of a deep golden yellow in parts of the house facing north, but if I wear yellow anything I look as if I had been on an all-night bender. And not just one night.

The founder of the first yellowcab company paid some study to find out what color sticks out the most on the streets.

It was yellow.

23. It depends on the shade of yellow...
Lighter shades, such as a light butter yellow, for clothes, walls, etc. can be quite nice, actually. For clothes, it would be fine for a dress in any shade. Or, if you wore one article of clothing (blouse, shorts, shirt) with other colors, it would be okay. Too much of it is overwhelming.

25. In nature it IS nice.
And the bold school bus yellow of my chicken eggs is very good. But that's as far as I go.

Yellow, orange, blue, and pink are colors I avidly avoid in clothes and the like.

On the graphics of CBCnewsnetwork. I'm sick of it. I only ever liked the lemon yellow anyhow.

27. The exterior of small homes look welcoming in a paler yellow...
But the interior walls...not so much my taste.
I have one son who looks amazing in yellow and wears it often..

I believe all children under age 10 should wear as much of bright colors as they
want to wear...after that only a few will dress that brightly again.

30. My skin is pink.
I look awful in beige, yellow or brown. I'm very fair skinned and have hazel eyes.
Those colors make me look drab and dead.

I look better in pink, coral, red, muted green that matches my eyes, or shades of blue, or black.

40. Love it!
Along the shore the cloud waves break,
The twin suns sink behind the lake,
The shadows lengthen

In Carcosa

Strange is the night where black stars rise,
And strange moons circle through the skies
But stranger still is

Lost Carcosa

Songs that the Hyades shall sing,
Where flap the tatters of the King,
Must die unheard in

Dim Carcosa

Song of my soul, my voice is dead,
Die thou, unsung, as tears unshed
Shall dry and die in

Lost Carcosa

-Cassilda's Song in 'The King in Yellow'
Act I. Scene 2.

Edited on Sun Mar-07-10 10:38 AM by Iggo
...and in the movie this canary yellow Hummer stretch limo pulls up and someone says, "Look! It's a school bus for assholes!"

Not sure what this adds to the coversation, though...

EDIT: Okay. I'll add this. Cars? No. Clothing? Yes, but only on teenage girls.
