WTF? Dirty Harry on Netflix Instant is 4:3 pan and scan. |
|
Here I sat, thinking, "Great! Dirty Harry on Neflix Instant." Little did I know that I'd have to endure a "modified to fit your screen" pan and scan version.
Sorry, Netflix. Not going to do it.

Good for you!
Pan and scan is horrible stuff. PERIOD.
You lose about 1/3 of the picture...not exactly what the director had in mind.
Make them (Netflix) give you the proper letterboxed version!

2. It's the watch instant version--I'm not sure there's a reasonable complaint process. |
|
All I can do is report the picture as 'unwatchable or missing.'
When they shipped a pan and scan version of a movie, they replaced it with the real thing immediately, but this is different.

3. Netflix, still using pan and scan? |

God...why? I can understand that some people still have 4:3 tvs, but they need to speed up the transition process to ensure that all DVDs are widescreen versions wherever produced originally, ONLY.
