Who else belongs to the "Never Saw Titanic" club? |
|
All the hype just turned me off. What other blockbusters have you never seen?

Sounds awful to me. I've also never seen Braveheart, nor do I care to.

19. I haven't seen Titanic but I did see Braveheart. |
|
I was at my crazy right-wing uncle's place, and we watched it on laser disc (remember those? like a DVD but 12" across) on a big screen TV with a thunderstorm in progress. His air conditioner was out, so the windows were open. Between the thunder and the volume he had cranked up, it was an intense movie experience. There is little value-added to Braveheart if you don't like scenes of humiliation interlaced with scenes of revenge, to the tune of saccharine Celtic music. The movie is nothing if not mind-numbingly macho. And there's the scene where the King defenestrates his gay son's boyfriend. Yikes!
I remember the alleged TV Guide capsule summary of Titanic: Boy meets girl. Ship sinks. Having seen the lengthy trailers, I pretty much felt no need to actually see the movie.

It took me years to figure out why guys would address me as "Yo, Adrienne..." And I got bored with Forrest Gump after half an hour.

Glorified, overwrought death worship disguised as a special effects epic.
Never saw Fatal Attraction, Jurrasic Park, most slasher pics, most movies starring Bruce Willis, movies that could have starred Bruce Willis, any variation of Matrix...
...and I wish I'd never seen any movie starring Mike Myers, a performer I used to enjoy but now avoid like the plague he's become.

Didn't see Forest Gump, or any of the Jurassic Park movies, or Spiderman or any Adam Sandler movie after being forced to watch Happy Gilmore at a friends place - to "proove" how funny it was (I won that bet) also didn't get suckered into any of the prequels for Star Wars and only saw ET a few years ago (and thought it was crap)
I can pretty much tell if I'll like a movie/TV show/book based on whether the general population like it - come to realise that few people share my tastes I'spose

20. I never got to finish seeing it. I was preggers with my son, and right |
|
as the water started pouring in, and the ship was starting it's final descent, I had the uncontrollable urge to go to the ladies room. The line was horrendous and by the time I came back it was on the part where everyone who had died was welcoming Rose back on board. No great loss, I knew the ending anyway and already was a blubbering mess by the first five minutes looking at all the babies on board. :hi:

I did see the part where that one woman (forget her name at the moment) got naked and painted. :)
Oh, and I've never seen those new "Star Wars" movies. Total turnoffs. Never seen "Passion" either. Nor any of the "Die Hard" or "Rocky" movies.

But I felt I had to, since I'm a Kate Winslet supporter, and I really like Cameron as a genius director (though I knew going into the watching of the movie it was gonna be crap, and it was).
Camerson, you should be ashamed of yourself.

No Titanic, and no other film the story and the end of which is well known, except perhaps it´s really really funny. So I´ll refuse to watch any Bible-film, too.
