3. They had a few good lines, mostly Steve. I didn't get the George Clooney part though.
Was it set up with George or is there some genuine animosity?

18. That was weird.
If it's a bit, make it obvious. I was left scratching my head.

5. So wooden, it is like these people have never acted before...
all of them. Should be more conversational and not so forced...

20. Agree. I liked them but think they should have rehearsed more or
too the time to memorize their lines.

7. Yeah, I thought they were pretty bad.
I really didn't think it was a very good Oscar show. Yes, I enjoyed, as always, the announcement of the winners, but I heard they were going to do some things differently, as well as make the show shorter, but I didn't really see anything that was all that different from past shows. And it ran way too long. Bad show overall.

16. And why were all of Alec's suits too small?
It's like his vanity won't let them put him in a 48 long... "I've been a 42 long since Glengarry Glen Ross, so dammit Armani, SUIT ME UP!"

Or was it the year before? I don't know. I just remember not being able to sit through any of that, it was that bad.

11. I didn' watch so I picked horribly bad!
Martin was sucked at this sort of thing before...can't imagine pairing him with Baldwin would lessen his suckiness...probaby multiply it.

13. Snuggieriffic!
I thought they were great. I appreciate that clueless, straight-man deliver of asshole remarks.

"There's that damn Helen Mirren!" :spray:

I don't know what the deal was with Clooney, although I did think it was funny that it looked like the only time Clooney smiled was when someone was talking about him.

17. I was over at my folks house last night. They have a TV. I convinced them to turn it off.
I kept asking, "Are you being entertained now?" (pause for more cringe inducing filler material) "Are you being entertained now?" (followed by yet more cringe inducing filler material)

Finally mom said, "Well I like to know who won." And dad shot off, "That'll take about five minutes on the internet." He was wrong. It requires about two minutes, but his point was clear. It's like a big annual SNL with everyone patiently waiting for something interesting to happen.

So we switched over to Tom Brokaw's special on the Boomer Generation and ended up having a real engaging conversation during the show. Eventually they'll smarten up and realize the Oscars are not worth 120 minutes of anyone's time. Maybe they could pair it up with a rerun of Lassie or Daktari next year and make it just a one hour show.

21. a little rough at first, but Baldwin has great timing
I think it's hard to find the line between roasting and sycophancy regarding the nomineess..

Tina Fey and Downey were the funniest IMHO.

He just makes fun of everyone in the room. Its awesome. Oh and he is usually piss drunk before the show starts.

26. Had'a see the replay on Oscar.com but

I enjoyed them teasing Meryl Streep mercilessly (because I love her). The thing with George Cloony seemed overdone. I think they need better writers. Normally you talk about history, art and the industry not just lampooning stars in the audience like it was almost a roast. Yes, better writers.

28.  I thought they were hilarious, too.
The Clooney bit, the Paranomal Activity bit, the Snuggie bit, all of it.

The show was too long, as usual, but overall I was pleased. Especially since I didn't have to listen to James "I'm the king of the world" Cameron.

32. wasn't thrilled with how long the one skit
by Martin and Baldwin lasted, but it wasn't really terrible.

Would rather have watched another hour of that than 2 minutes of Ben Stiller's attention-hogging idiocy.
