1. Edward Scissorhands in the montage? Really?
That was a weird choice.

2. Twilight was in there, too, and I don't think it's horror.

3. Yeah, I know - so not horror.
Also weird was Anthony Hopkins as Hannibal Lecter, considering Silence of the Lambs DID win a shitload of Oscars.

8. Just after they said no horror film had been represented since The Exorcist.
When they made that comment, I thought "They must not consider 'Silence of the Lambs' horror." Then they showed it in the horror montage.

It was a weird segment. I guess it was at least movie themed, which is better than some of the goofy song and dance routines we've seen at past shows.

6. I agree, but I thought Edward Scissorhands was the furthest afield
With most I could see where an argument could be made, even if I wouldn't call them horror. But Edward Scissorhands isn't even close.

10. fantasy homage to horror maybe?
I think they just wanted to do the Depp (Scissorhands) to Depp (Elm Street) cut and didn't let facts get in the way.

7. I got a kick of the montage because I recognized most
of the clips.

9. Nice montage but started it with a lie
Saying The Exorcist was the last horror film honored and then showing a montage with a shot from Silence of the Lambs was kind of stupid.

Silence of the Lambs won best picture, director, adapted screenplay and the top two acting awards in 1992.

15. Yeah...if you're going to include it in a horror montage, then credit it as a horror movie.
But it generally is categorized as a thriller and not a horror film. The Exorcist is the last true horror film to do anything at the Oscars.

Best film of the millennium, so far.
