Her pictures told stories.

I have always tried to take pictures like her, never close.

The link above has some great pictures.

1. Absolutely.
I used to teach a unit on photography and always showed her work to the students. Her images are so powerful.

2. I have this big book of her pictures.
I never get tired of looking at them.

I think the pictures being in b/w made them more powerful.

3. I'm very fond of her collebration with Pirkle Jones documenting Monticello
or "Death of a Valley"

That's Dorothea in the McKenzie general store in Monticello. It's under water these days. McKenzie's grandson is my neighbor.

Dam at Hell's gate

Somewhere under the water lived a magical valley

I studied photography with Jones for a short time in the early seventies. He worked with Ansel Adams and printed most of Ansel's photographs in the early days. I learned from the best.

4. Wonderful pictures.
I have been doing the same thing for several years.

My old inner city neighbor has changed from old houses to townhouses.

As soon as it started I started to take pictures, so glad I did.

The pictures I have are very special to me.

So many of the old houses are gone, but not lost to history.

Yeah Dorothea had a effect on me.
