I hate Word 2007 worse than Wonder Woman hates furries. |

And Wonder Woman goddamn hates furries.

1. Well there is a little learning curve. |
|
I went from Word 2K to Word 2007. Quite a bit of difference but I like it now.

2. For the life of me I can't figure out how to insert column breaks. |
|
I knew where everything was in word 2003 & earlier versions. I usually use keystroke shortcuts rather than point-n-click cause it's faster for me. But for no reason at all, they just up and changed half of the keystroke commands, make you toggle through five or six tabs to even find the subject area of the command you want to use... and then you can't even set it to default save into a .doc format. It takes three clicks plus a pulldown menu to avoid saving it as a .docx file. Who the hell were they trying to please with this idiotic docx format? What there anyone out there complaining that .doc's were using up too little memory?
Bill Gates is an asshole.

http://office.microsoft.com/training/Training.aspx?AssetID=RP101563801033&CTT=6&Origin=RC101562731033There's a bunch of tutorials that can be accessed from the help menu. This one is intended to help with the keystroke commands you mentioned. If you just depress the Alt key and look at the pulldowns you will see the keys to be used in conjunction with the alt key and where each will lead.

22. How is Open Office working for you? |
|
I've been thinking I'd try it just for grins but a nephew said doesn't always work well with when used to modify a document that has been created in the latest version of Microsoft Word.

26. Don't have any trouble with the latest version of open office with conversion |
|
In fact, the only trouble I have had is when it comes to EXCEL files... but that's another kettle of fish. I am pretty impressed with Google docs too though, plus it puts your work in the clouds and makes it accessible from anywhere.

Proud user of WP since 5.0 for DOS.
Word Perfect converts Word documents and saves them in Word format better than Word does.

I despise MS Word, and only use it when forced to do so. Unfortunately, many businesses and most, if not all government agencies won't let one use anything else. I convert from WP whenever I can.

convert the 2007 menus back to the previous layout. http://www.pctipsbox.com/word-2003-classic-menu-layout-to-word-2007/Haven't used it, and there are other similar downloads, so you may want to check them out before installing.

17. On Word 2007 Select All |
|
is a drop down from the Home button on the tool bar. Click on the Home button and go all the way to the right on the tool bar that comes up when you do that. The last button reads:
Find Replace Select Editing
Next to "Select" is a drop down arrow twisty. Click on it and you get
Select All Select objects Select Text with Similar Formatting
Click on Select All and you're there.

On the Home tab to the far right on the toolbar should be "editing". Find, Replace, Select. On the Select drop down it should say "select all".
