Good morning Lounge
How are you today?

Sorry I am scarce these days. But work and social life are taking over. And it seems like it will continue like that :scared:

So what have you been up to?

8. Good morning MissH!
I was starting to wonder about you, but glad to hear that all is okay, and I guess, better than okay.

Care to elaborate on the social life thing? If not, that's okay. I'm just nosy.

I've got a four day work week this week (well three days now). Heading up north for my annual long weekend with the girls. We always have a blast.

:hi: :loveya:

p.s. Love the picture!

11. Good morning Callalily
:hi:  :loveya:

Nothing too exciting about my social life. Just bookclub (every 2 weeks), international meet-up (every month) and friends and family. Nothing more. :)

Next two books to read for the bookclub are "The scarlet letter" by Hawthorne and "Brave new world" by Huxley.

Ohhh .... that sounds a lot of fun!!!!

14. Oh, I've got book club
tonight! *blushing* I did not get a chance to finish the book, which is unusual for me.

Our weekend will be a blast. We rent an entire lodge and this year there are close to 50 going. This is the only time of the year that I see some of the women, but when we get together, it's difficult to believe that a whole year has passed!

We all bring snacks, beverages (alcohol and otherwise), play games, do crafts (not me ) go shopping, read, hike, etc.

19. International book club!
That sounds like fun and I bet there are many lively discussions.

Poor town! Good thing the lodge is a few miles out of town and way back in the woods. ;) And for those that do go shopping, well, the store owners welcome them with open arms.

Gotta head out for work, so wishing you a great day.

21. Welcome back
:hi:

Renfest rehearsals are starting, along with promotions. That will take up most of my weekends up to Opening weekend. I've added an improv class to all of that. Not playing soccer, that will have to wait for summer.

So, that's the horse you ride to get away from it all? :D

More German workers suffer burnout

The number of German workers suffering from the psychological problem known as the "burnout syndrome" has increased significantly, according to a new expert report.

According to a report in Sunday's edition of the Frankfurter Allgemeine newspaper, a team of expert psychiatrists and health insurance officials recently concluded that exhaustion among employees is increasing.

"The intensity of the burnout syndrome and the frequency with which it occurs are both increasing steadily," said Frankfurt psychiatrist Hansjörg Becker. He claimed that the situation was so bad that many German businesses were already suffering due to the high number of employees who were forced to miss work due to feelings of mental and nervous exhaustion.

According to the paper, the number of Germans forced to give up their jobs completely because of burnout syndrome has also increased drastically. In 2009 the Allianz health insurance experts calculated that 22.1 percent of all vocational disability cases (incapacity to work) were caused by psychological problems. In 2007 the figure was just 20.5 percent.
