Do you get on elevators before giving other people the chance to get off?



Yesterday somebody did that to me and I'm like :grr:

1. That's like the folks who get on a bus

before making sure everyone who wants to get off has done so.

2. That's one of my pet peeves

It also applies to buses, airport trains, rental car shuttles, etc., etc.

It's amazing when someone becomes so selfish and uncivil that they can't even recognize that their behavior is slowing EVERYONE down, including him/herself.

3. Walking down the hall at school yesterday I saw a crowd of students trying to cram

int a classroom while another crowd tried to pour out. I heard one girl ask "Why don't we let them come out before going in?" Her friends apparently had no idea what she was talking about - blank faces all around...

I trip them and give them a swift kick when they're down.

Sometimes, I punch them if I can't get a good hook on the ankle.

(I always get cheers from other passengers when I do this, especially on the subway when sometimes it causes five or six of them to go down like dominos.)

just to avoid that happening. One of my pet peeves, that is.

I once accidentally almost did it myself, though. There was only one person on the elevator, and they were standing way up in the corner near the buttons. From where I was standing I couldn't see them right away. Like to have given me a heart attack.

6. Yeah, on the shuttle buses on the mall..

tons of people getting off and on but there is always someone who boards without waiting.
