OK dream interpreters, give this one your best shot |
|
I had a vivid dream this morning where I was somewhere attending a class or something, and when I was leaving and went out to my car, the whole top of the car was gone. It was essentially a convertible, but my car is not a convertible. I examined the apparent spots where there should have been evidence of cutting or something, but it was clean, like they just popped it off and away it went.
Then, it was starting to rain so I got in and tried to drive home as quick as I could, but as soon as I touched the gear shifter, it broke off and only a tiny nub remained that I could not move, so I couldn't drive it anywhere.
It was so frustrating, but what the hell does it mean???

1. I don't know what it means but I once had a very similar dream - and I don't drive! |
|
In my dream, I was driving the car in some sort of park, and it kept disintegrating until there was virtually nothing left of it.

5. Very same question I was going to ask. This is a stress dream and |
|
usually relates to some test or paper due or some obligation that is pending.

7. Nope. I used to have all those kinds of stress dreams when I was, though |
|
I remember having lots of obvious dreams related to stress about school. Usually it was one where I had an exam coming up and I either forgot to study or couldn't study, something like that. Never about my car though, lol.

4. Strange, Lately I have been having these vivid, horrifying dreams that involve being in my car. |
|
It's hard to interpret someone else's dream, but maybe it has something to do with losing a sense of control over one's life, or fear of the future, or "Uncertainty" about something.
I am lucky that in my dreams I get more clues about what they are about, usually, but I empathize. Sometimes dreams are really scary, and I used to laugh at the idea dreams could be upsetting. They can be.

6. Control is a big thing. I had a reoccuring dream when I was in law school about |
|
an exam in a course I had never attended. I have had dreams about losing my keys...usually all about control over your life.

9. Well all of those certainly apply to me, now more than ever |
|
But it's not really that recent of a condition, I've been stressed for years now.
I've just never come upon the motif of losing the top of one's car, the whole roof just *poof* gone, and then the gearshifter breaking off (no, I'm not male, lol)
The only obvious interpretation is: fear, fear of loss, loss of control, etc and those apply, it was just such a clear and bizarre scene.

8. Your sub-conscious interprets your emotions in symbols |
|
Supposedly you can understand your dream if you figure out what the symbols your own mind is throwing up are. Obviously your car means something. Probably a whole slew of things. Perhaps independence, or control over where you go on your life's journey, and not being able to use your car (independence thwarted) would be very frustrating. You might think that your car has been meddled with by someone else and that could mean you feel others are controlling your life.
Always ask yourself what the symbols in your dreams mean to you because your dreams are you making stories about your feelings. Dreams are almost always about emotions like fear, rage, lust, sorrow etc. There not very mental.

11. Dreams can be very smart. Are you worried about being exposed while trying to shift something? |
|
I agree that it sounds like a stress of some kind, and if you were stressed in school it would be natural for that to show up as an association. Only you know how you think, but if you're facing a change, a decision, a "shift" of some sort you might well be worried about it, and that you're not being protected from the "rain" of whatever is involved.
