My favorite song/sequence in any Disney movie...
It's 'Heaven's Light' and 'Hellfire' from the Hunchbank of Notre Dame.

I love this sequence so much. 'Hellfire' is probably the biggest risk Disney ever took in terms of mature content. It's the best villain song in a disney movie done by one of the better disney villains. Frollo is one of the few disney villains to have more than one dimension...and damn if some of the imagery in this song isn't just plain unsettling.
The weird red-robed figures, the ghostly images floating up at the end...

Anyway, anybody else have something that sticks in their mind?

12. Holy shit! You've seen "Hellfire!"
I put in the DVD years ago, expecting some warmed-over kiddie crap, and was knocked off my tuckus. The "Hellfire" piece was every bit as intense as John Williams's Duel of the Fates.

Everyone, stop raving about The Lion King, and take a gander at The Hunchback of Notre Dame! The best Disney film no one talks about!

15. I saw it in theaters as a teen, and it had a huge impact on me.
The part where he's backing up to the wall saying 'God have mercy on her...god have mercy on me...'
Damn. There's just no other Disney villain who would even think to say something like that.

16. "Operatic" would be an understatement
The bookend piece, "Bells of Notre Dame," is almost as sublime.

"Bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells, bells...bells...of....No-tre......Daaaaammmmeeeeee!!!!!!!"

Can't watch it without sobbing....

So why is it my favorite?
I guess I enjoy feeling sad.

If I want to pick a happy sequence, I'd have to go with
"Once Upon A Dream" from Sleeping Beauty.

26. It's not really a song, but there's this little whistle tune in Peter Pan.
It's like where Peter Pan is about to show up and do something. Like a secret club handshake almost. I'm not quite sure how to describe it, but if you know the movie, then you know exactly what I'm talking about.
