It's a real shame that my husband feels the need to call me ahead |
|
of time when he comes home early just to warn me that he didn't get laid off again, but that his knee is too swollen for him to stay on it. Every time he comes home early (he goes in early, too) he sees the look and knows it makes my heart stop. He's doing contract work with absolutely no guarantees and no benefits, the contract is renewed either once a month or once every 3 months at THEIR whim.
Anyone else like this?

1. The first time I came home early from work |
|
my wife's first thought was that I'd been laid off - I don't recall the circumstances - it was probably the day before a long weekend and they let us go early.
Since then, I always call before showing up unexpectedly (or at least I did until she started working - now I'd have to be getting home before noon for her to notice).

3. Why does this song remind me of the song "Thursday" by Morphine? |
