Actor Peter Graves Dies

Actor Peter Graves, best known for his starring role on TV's "Mission: Impossible," was found Sunday at his home, according to a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department. He was 83.

Loved MI but will always remember him in Airplane!

RIP, and thanks.

4. RIP Mr. Graves - I'll miss you.
On a side note: These things always happen in eight thousand, three hundred and sevens.

5. I met him years ago.
Really nice guy.

I hated how the Mission: Impossible movie destroyed his character Jim Phelps.

9. I personally pretend that the Mission Impossible films did not happen
or at least that they are some other story with no real affiliation with the television show.

Peaceful passing, Mr. Graves.

7. Your mission, should you choose to accept it:
the afterlife.

Thanks for all the memorable moments, Mr. Graves.

8. Fuck Tom Cruise and Jon Voight anyway
Sorry, but it had to be said. Stupid bastards tried to tell me Jim Phelps was a traitor. Haven't seen a Tom Cruise film since.

10. Ach so!
I was too young for Mission Impossible, but I will always love him for Stalag 17.

My mom said that when the movie came out, all the girls wanted Mr. Graves not to be the spy. He is so charming on screen n this picture.

:(

11. I had 2 encounters with him over the years.
The first was when I bumped into him - literally - while he was jogging down the center green area of San Vicente Blvd in Santa Monica/Pacific Palisades.

The second was a couple years later water skiing. The boat took off with him standing on his skis on the dock. He went straight into the water without any problems. BIG guy, and apparently extremely strong, too.

Nice guy. Good actor, classy individual. And anyone who could make fun of himself like he did in Airplane has a world class sense of humor, too.

He'll be missed.
