Some pics from the last 2 weeks
As most of you know, I went to Florida to be with my Dad for his knee surgery. It was supposed to be both knees (replaced) in one week. But he developed complications & could only have one operated on for now. He was in the hospital 9 days. As it turned out, I ended-up going twice, within two weeks.

Thankfully, my Dad is home and recuperating ok now.

We got there early enough for Bike Week. Since my Dad lives near Daytona Beach,
we decided to go check it out the weekend before his surgery:

Taken from my Dad's backyard

A couple from the hospital, using my iPhone

Emotional support animals (not allowed in the Ortho ward, though)

The weather warmed up a little by the end of the first week

Had a very long walk on the beach, the last full day I was there:

All-in-all, I would describe those two-weeks as one big emotional
roller coaster. It felt nice to come home.

1. Awesome shots!
I've never made it to a big rally, but I've been to a few smaller ones. Good times were had by all.

I love the doggys too!

:*

2.  Thank you. I'd like to attend a rally on my bike...
but I'm not sure about Bike Week in Daytona, for many reasons.

3. Indeed
Hehe, one of your reasons is probably why I haven't made it to a big rally :D

:hi:

5. Too many people in one spot
having too much fun.

That is a risky envioronment for me :+

And yours?

6. Two main reasons:
The old drivers in Florida scare the $hit out of me.

And, the range on my Sportster (on a tank of gas) is only 120 miles. I'd probably run out of gas somewhere in Mississippi! lol

7. Sturgis is in late summer
Hec, I forget. It is in a Dakota.

That would be a nice ride it seems... and in your range :D

But I really think it would be fun.

17. Really long ugly story.
Just suffice it to say I was young, naive and never been that far from home before. Most of the ugliness had to to with my boyfriend who took me down there. Just not a good scene for me at all.

Glad your dad is doing much better. :D

The dad looks more nervous than the kid.

Hope your dad is doing well and on the mend. :toast:

14. Thanks Forkboy
My Dad is doing better... a lot better than last week.

And, yeah, the kid wasn't scared at all. He did pet the snake, btw, and remained unharmed.

11. Great pics, HG.
Thanks for sharing. Nice presentation, too. After the hullaballoo of the bikers, and the repressed intensity of the hospital scenes, it was nice to have a couple of peaceful coast and beach scenes.

Glad you're back home! B-)

22. The owner left her leather jacket and helmet just sitting on the bike
I got the feeling people don't mess with other people's stuff at a bike rally. ;-)

23. My dear Haole Girl!
You took some great shots! I was all getting upset at the misogynist helmet, till I read it belongs to a woman!

And I love your peaceful beach scene, and your dad's back yard...

Welcome home, sweetie...
