She is one of the nicest most helpful supportive people here or elsewhere. She's been very supportive and helpful to me with my personal struggles with my illness.
She's also so down to earth I cannot for the life of me figure out how anyone could think she is a braggart!
What she accomplished was very amazing and she SHOULD be proud.

I know how hard that is - I went from 220 to 175 in the last year, and I feel great even though it's a constant struggle.

But she's pretty cool, and I can't imagine her not doing something worthwhile. The Lounge and the Sports Forum has some of the most real people on DU and, even though we don't interact much, I've always felt she was one of them. If she's a braggart I'm than I'm Genghis Khan (no comments from the peanut gallery!).

Staying sober, losing weight and keeping it off, getting a college degree, birthing a healthy baby, having a poem published, etc. We're not all here to whine and complain: sometimes we want to celebrate our successes. As long as it's not at anyone else's expense, why the hell not?

Kudos to auntie A. As someone who struggles with her weight myself, more power to her!
